Services ... Super & Standard 8mm Films to VHS & DVD When
you think about it, over the years you have spent a great deal of
time and money on your old movie films … purchasing cameras, films,
projectors to play them on, etc. Research indicates … due to the chemical makeup of old movie films, there is not much time left to salvage those family heirlooms before they become … a pile of dust. Consider … how much money you have spent and for what you might ask? … What a GREAT waist … Your films are sitting in a box in the closet where they have been for the last few (or many) years. No projector to play them on, its broken, no parts available to have it fixed, besides it would be too expensive even if you could have it repaired. Maybe you are lucky enough to have a projector that is still working, great, now what? It's a time consuming exercise each time you go to simply play back one old film. You may be asking … there is got to be a better way? But before going any further you must firstly ask yourself … How precious are my movie films to me and … my family? Are they worth preserving and passing down through the family for generations to come to ensure these memories will always be there to enjoy? If you cannot answer YES to these two basic questions then … you must be prepared to eventually throw your films in the rubbish bin when they eventually fade away to nothing or become so brittle that they literally fall apart next time you attempt to play them on a projector. This is what WILL happen to them … this you can guarantee! If however
you consider that your films are PRECIOUS then you have come to exactly
the right place because … film transfer is our specialty. Our
Commitment To Quality We use only the latest technology. We do not depend on outdated equipment.. Broadcast quality 3 chip CCD cameras used for television news and medical imaging capture your film. In short our best equipment and personnel specially handle your films. You will love them for many years to come and they will surely become family heirlooms, since the DVD-R disks rated to last 80 plus years for archival purposes, whereas video only last on average up to ten years.
The following is our 8mm and Super 8 film process. Film frames are separated into the three primary colours and digitally processed. Each frame of film is saved as a frame of digital video. During this process the frame rate of the film is adjusted and synchronized so it can be displayed with no flicker. We are able to adjust colours, brightness, contrast and detail throughout each movie. These adjustments are made using a CCD broadcast quality camera. Output Films are edited removing all frames that have been damaged due to age. Some correction to brightness and darkness is made as required throughout the transfer process. Sections that are out of focus or far too dark or far too light are removed. Clean DV signals (all of the original high quality) are sent to various recording devices allowing a direct transfer. (DVD is MPEG2, 720X480, 29.97 fps., variable bit rate.) We use a minimal amount of compression (necessary to record to DVD). Back Ground Music Relaxing background music is added (at no additional cost) prior to completion to films that are not sound based. From experience we find music has the power to enhance the video memories you are viewing and makes your experience that much more enjoyable. Upon completion we provide a film assessment schedule, which details the condition and length of each and every film transferred in number order. Your Satisfaction is … Our Satisfaction … Our objective is to provide you with the highest level of quality, customisation and safety while keeping our services affordable. Our experienced technicians complete high quality film transfers for customers throughout Australia. We liase with our customers throughout the transfer process to ensure you get the finished product exactly the way you want it.
